“NBO” is an abbreviation for the National Bank of Oman (http://www.nbo.om) which operates predominantly in Oman and the Middle East region providing financial services to the government, large corporate firms, small-and-medium businesses and retail clients. With the bank named as the “National Bank” it does very much represents the country: Sultanate of Oman. Recently, the bank signed an NEW agreement with the European Tour to replace the old Tournament (Challenge Tour Grand Final) and for the bank to become a promoter of a NEWER and BIGGER golf tournament (NBO Oman Open) which will form part of the European Tour circuit of golf tournaments. This new Golf Tournament will be named the “NBO Oman Open” and the Tournament will be played in the capital city: Muscat, Oman. This golf tournament will feature the world’s best golfers and is recognized as a top sporting event with the highest level of golf professionals participating.
The vision of the golf tournament is to place the country on the centre stage of international sports with the objective to create awareness of commercial investment opportunities and the amazing touristic attractions the country has to offer. At the same time it is also important for the Bank’s brand to be associated with the country and the opportunities available. Example, the Emirates Airline brand is strongly associated to Dubai and we wish to create a similar link where the bank is directly associated when someone thinks of Oman as the country.
