Descripción de la aplicación
We are developing an iPhone app that facilitates financial planning (think Mint or Personal Capital as major competitors). Specifically, the app asks users to fill in basic financial information about their financial situation, and using best practice models, produces a forecasts for their future financial plan and provides recommendations on actions to take to meet their financial goals.
Financial planning and finance is an intimidating subject for many folks that can seem overwhelming and cause anxiety. As such, to complement the technical portion of the app, the thought process was to design an app that would exude calm, serenity and peacefulness. As such, we think the ideal design would combine elements from meditation apps, life planning apps and financial planning apps. Included in the attachment are various reference points that we have saved, but we are open to anything. From an actual design development perspective, nothing but the app icon has been set in stone. Everything is open including generic colors, fonts / font sizes, spacing and layout.

See the video link below for a technical demo of the functional flow of the app. As mentioned above, none of the design / UI is set in stone, and everything is up for discussion. Ideally, a winning design would have some basic knowledge of iOS workflows, such as table views, collection views, navigation bars, tab bars and generic iOS forms would be helpful, as the plan is to overlay as much as possible the design on top of the generic objects, as opposed to reinvent the wheel and build brand new user experiences. Specifically, we are looking for the following screens. See attached pdf for the specific screens we would like a design proposal for. Screen 1: Onboarding Introduction Screen - This should be a relatively simply screen, but it is important as it sets the tone and design for the entire app as it is the entry path for a new user into the app. It’s currently set up a simple table view with selectable cells, but important considerations include how we want those table view cells to look, or if we want to change it into a two column collection view (i.e. a grid) Screen 2: Onboarding Form 1 Screen - As seen in the tech demo, this is a form that immediately follows the onboarding form. The idea of this screen is to provide a very simple, guided template for users to define their goals without having to do too much or overwhelm them with too many numbers or decisions. Again, how can we make it simple and appealing to make them want to continue the onboarding process? It’s currently set up as a table view form. Feel free to reword the section headers if desired. Screen 3: Generic Form Screen - This is a generic form to add income items (and not shown in the tech demo, but also used for expenses and goals). This is a generic form, but given how critical forms are to the app, would like a proposal for what we can do with the form to make it more appealing to fill out and thematically consistent with the app. Screen 4: Dashboard Screen - As shown in the tech demo, this is the screen that you get dropped into immediately after onboarding. Ignoring the fact that the user probably needs a better introduction to all the elements in this screen, there are a couple of key elements. The screen is effectively divided into two halves, the top half showing charts that contain aggregated forecasts from the model, and the bottom half showing all the detail items that drive that forecast. Part of the challenges on this screen include designing the line chart shown in a way consistent with the rest of the app, and perhaps decluttering to help simplify the information shown on this screen (while still acting as a dashboard that makes all the information handy). Sketch files are preferred over PSD but not required.
Lo que debe evitarse
Non-standard UI controls / forms (simply from a resource perspective we are trying to stand up the app asap and do not have time to implement new UI tools)
