We would like to express our business plan in a graphical format in order to make it more engaging to our employees. The concept is based on inputs to reach the desired output. We were thinking something like a picture of a butcher making sausages. The butcher is turning the handle of the meat mixing machine, perhaps he has the company logo on his shirt or hat, the sausage machine has a hopper like container but in lieu of meat being put into the hopper the inputs are words “Integrity, Determination, Innovation, Knowledge and Respect”. These are our company value words. Then there is a pile of sausages coming out with information on each sausage, the output words are: Revenue growth of 15% each year, career advancement, financial reward & security, learning and development opportunities, exciting and enjoyable environment.
Somewhere in the picture are the active ingredients that are used in the sausages they are: Energy and passion, responsibility for actions, a proactive attitude, a willingness to embrace opportunities, learning and sharing knowledge, working together and having fun.
Also there is a list of “product does not include” : Laziness, buck passing, whingeing and complaining, blaming others, empire Building, gossiping, rudeness, insensitive and selfish behaviour.
Somewhere in the picture is a slogan “securing our future”
In addition we need to get our name and tag line “Air-Met “work in confidence” into the picture – this may be on the butcher for example or a sign in the butcher shop.
The above will be used on our intranet and used as posters to hang around our offices.
To track the strategies or action list needed to achieve the objectives we need a method to communicate to our staff each month via email or updating on our intranet. We think that keeping in the same concept we could have all the actions listed like nutritional information is on a food product with a list of all the activities and a column for percentage completed – the nutritional information will have an expiry date of June 2013 (ie) this is the end of our 3 year plan
