I am looking for a header design for my blog, which is called Rebecca's Cafe (rebeccapatt.com). I am in the process of remodeling the whole site now that I have transferred it from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I am very inspired to make it beautiful, brilliant, and spectacular.
I have a couple of ideas and inspirations....
One vision for the header (see the attachment) to be a whimsical cartoon with an animated coffee cup simulating the moon landing, and next to it are animated symbols of the restaurant industry (forks, spoons, cocktail glass, etc) who are sitting at a "bar at the end of the universe" type of place chatting, eating, and drinking. The coffee cup moon landing symbolizes me taking one small step for mankind yet one giant leap in cyberspace while hanging out my freak flag to fly.
I like the whimsical, intimate feel of a cartoon, and I also like pretty, cheerful, soothing colors...
Alternately, instead of a cartoon coffee cup making a moon landing, it's a cartoon version of me doing it... for photo of me, see http://rebeccapatt.com/about/
Something else that inspires me is http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/gt0m…b6AVWu38_Q
This is Arnold's Perk, in Arnold's Park, IA... the cutest, most inspiring, and inviting coffee shop I've ever been in. I didn't want to leave!
My blog is intended to be a welcoming place to receive delectable tidbits of information, recruiting tips, interviewing tips, interviews with restaurant executives ("Executive Chat with Rebecca Patt"), job opportunities, and other content related to executive recruiting for the restaurant industry. I want to give back a sense of the hospitality that the restaurant industry gives to me.
The site is a great networking and business building tool for me, a complement to the more traditional website of our recruiting firm.
Rebecca's Cafe is a place where people can get to know me better, as if we were having a cup of coffee. I want the experience so inviting and irresistible that prospects who come there will decide they need to business with me, now!
My goal is that if you spend time in Rebecca's Cafe, you will have a welcoming experience where you will leave informed, entertained, and uplifted... like a real cafe.
