My name is Valerie Van Balen, i am a jewelry designer on the island of Kauai. I travel directly to the pearl farms of french Polynesia to collect the rare South Sea pearl, and then i make all the jewelry in Hawaii myself. I have been in business for 14 years, I am 33. I have just been asked to show my jewelry at the St. Regis resort, and am l really looking forward to it! I love working for myself, creating wearable art, and allowing others to feel abundant and special for wearing my pieces. I have been called smart, elegant & generous.

My main market is upper class tourists who visit Kauai. The demographic is mostly couples who are 40-60ish. They do want to bring home a special gift to remember their trip, or bring a surprise home for someone they love.
They usually travel often, and are worldly people. I am hoping to attract more international clients with this new opportunity at the St. Regis.
I want a logo that really attracts the eye and stand out. I really want something modern and clean, that i could be reconized as a strong brand from New York, to Paris & back. Such as "Chanel" and "Cartier"
I would like to se the name "Van Balen" spelled out.
But I am also interested in seeing some symbols and abbreviations..?
**Also this logo might need to be condensed into a very small space
(think size of a pea) if i want to do custom gold jewelry tags that will attach to the necklaces ~ defining my brand.
..There is some part of me that would like to sneak in some native Tahitian motifs, but i understand this might be hard to make "elegant".
I am open to most colors - staying away from browns and yellows.
