UnMask
Founded in the summer of '08, Unmask is a student-run organization made up of 14 Tulsa-area high school students. We have been granted $50,000 by the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Foundation in order to combat an issue facing teens which we feel is under addressed in our community.
Our chosen topic? To enlighten and inform our generation as to the ways in which negative media is working to alter and manipulate our self-perceptions. The time has come for us to take back our minds and wallets!
Our mission is to create a more media savvy generation of teens. We aim to educate teens to understand the media's negative messages and give them the ability to overcome such manipulation in order to make their own independent and informed decisions and self-images in the current era of media controlled society.

We would like for this infographic to be readily available to both teens (14-18) and adults, with an emphasis on the teen population.
This is the first of 5 planned infographics intended to inform our audience about the media. In this first infographic we want to reveal the expanse of the media conglomerates. We have provided information about the top 5 media conglomerate companies. If possible we would like this information to be summed on one infographic however we are open to breaking it up into five smaller graphics. Some specifics;
- Brand Consistency: We want the look and feel to be consistent with our website and logo. We are open to the inclusion of other colors but with a focus on our main colors of green, blue, slate black, and white. That said, our overall goal is an attractive and appealing infographic and we do not want to constrain the designer with the color scheme.
- We plan to post the infographic to our website, link to other websites, and potentially turn it into posters to be hung up in classrooms.
- We want this infographic to be easily understandable and visually engaging to our audience.
- Our goal is to communicate an ominous feel to this information because we want to open the eyes of teens to how ubiquitous and powerful, yet concentrated, the media is.
-We would like the infographic to be of a good size for a poster so around 1350 X 1850 pixels or 18 X 24 inches approximately.
The attached file contains the information we would like you to use. We like the idea of using the logos of the various sub-companies to make it as visual as possible.
