We work with Borgman Ford Mazda. To clarify things we are a 3rd party. We help them (and 30+ other car dealers) with their inventory (car) advertising. Our primary business is inventory photography. If you look at their cars online (website, autotrader, cars.com etc...) you are looking at photos that we take. We just launched a new photography studio that incorporates a green screen on the top 1/3 of all images. This gives us the ability to incorporate branding for each of our dealership customers. The goal of this branding is to look natural - like the background of our photo studio has actual banners painted on the wall. It is a new service for the industry. Traditionally, car dealers have overlays placed on top of their images. They are static and very rigid. For instance, if the top of the vehicle overlaps with the overlay, the overlay simply covers the car making it look very fake. Our green screen allows the custom branding / ad to blend with the vehicle and even reflect into the paint. For this project specifically we are updating an overlay that borgman ford has had for 10 years. We would like to keep a similar color scheme and use their corporate logo but update it in a modern way. It is important to incorporate the same information (logo, phone number, website and slogan). Their old logo includes a banner along the bottom of the image. We would like to keep all of the branding to the top 1/3 and avoid the bottom banner. Attached are images showing the original green screen image for context. Also attached is Borgman Ford Mazda's current 10 year old overlay. Again, the image can be as large as the green screen area and overlap behind the vehicle. It is important that the text information stays towards the top of the image to prevent the top of the car, say, obscuring the phone number. If the logo is cut off or obscured by the vehicle, that is fine at least to some extent. Borgman currently only uses the overlay on their first image because it is very obtrusive. We plan on using it for all of the exterior images so something that is natural and not too distracting is ideal. As I said, we work with 30+ dealers. Impress us here and we have a lot of work in the future.
I would utilize their website to get a feel for the brand.
The very top portion of the image where the greensreen ends, is masked out. AKA the green screen effectively covers the whole top 1/3 of the image. Ignore the area where it disappers. You can create graphics that go flush to the top of the image. Attached are 1. Base images for our new green screen studio. 2. Borgman Ford's logo file. 3. Sample Image of what their inventory currently looks like. 4. Transparency of their current overlay. 5. A final image from our new studio with a plain white background for context on how well it blends into the background. 6. A sample image of their old background in our new studio.
