Footway is an Ecommerce selling shoes online through our webshop http://www.footway.com. We are experimenting with different kind of videos to use in our facebook marketing.
This contest is about coming up with a video marketing idea with high organic spread, in other words that will be shared to others by viewers on facebook - or in short: a video that has the potential to become viral.
As your contest entry send in a storyboard that explains your video idea. It is important that the storyboard really pitches your idea and gives us a clear idea of what you envision the video to look like.
Specifications of the video:
The video can be in any format you like; animated, a GIF, cinemagraph, lifestyle video with stock footage, video scribe ect.
As we want to experiment with a lot of different concepts, rather than spending a lot of effort on one production, it is important that the video can be produced on a low budget.
Here are some example of low budget videos that have been spread virally:
The GIF cannot include sex, drugs, violence, children or politics. You can only plan to use material that we will have full copyright over.
If you include shoes in the videos, it has to be shoes that we are selling on our website http://www.footway.com, and preferably our currently best-selling shoes that you can find on the top of the site here: https://www.footway.se/skor
The video should be 5-40 seconds long.
The video should allude to our brand. Our brand is about being fun and inspiring, making it simple for the customer and helping the customers. We see the customers as our friends and hope that they see us as theirs. Friends take care of each other and have fun together! You can read more about footway here: https://www.footway.co.uk/about_footway.html
Here our some adjectives that explain our brand:
- Lots of smiles and laughter
- Full of life and activity
- Genuine, "real" people (not images that look like model photos)
-People with mixed styles
-A bit crazy
Here are some general insights regarding viral videos:
Storytelling videos work the best. The storyline should be simple and something to which the target audience can ‘quickly’ relate to.
Viral video agency chamber.media dug through the top 100 viral ads of all time, evaluated common content themes related to social sharing metrics and determined the following 10 elements to be most commonly present:
-Contrasts things that don’t belong together
-Looks like it took a lot time and resources to make
-Captures reactions out of unsuspecting strangers
-Challenges a cultural tension in a controversial way
-Is outright strange and meme-oriented
-Uses technology in an unexpected way
-Features a current viral trend or figure
-Is a wish-fulfillment or fakes something that we wish was real
We will choose one winner of the contest that will win receive the prize. Apart from the winner we will select additional storyboards that we will reward with 100$ each.
In your entry, also specify if you are also able to produce the video idea as well, as we will, in the next phase, be looking for freelancers who can produce the winning ideas.
We have very limited capacity to answer any questions or give individual feedback during the contest. Therefor we will give collective feedback which will then hopefully give you a better understanding of what we are looking for.
We are going to create 10 videos/week the coming months, so we are actively looking for freelancers doing high quality work to collaborate with on a long-term basis.
We are really looking forward to working with you, good luck!
