Design program cover for the 2019 Fundraising Gala of the Pan Am Museum Foundation, 'A Royal Affair' commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the launch of the Queen of the Skies, the 747 Jumbo Jet. Along with Boeing, Pan Am developed and then served as the launch carrier for the 747. In January 1970, Pan Am operated the first commercial passenger flight of the 747 from New York to London. The 747 remains today the longest serving aircraft in aviation history and has changed the world by bringing the peoples of the world closer together.
Please be sure to include the name of the organization on the cover design, The Pan Am Museum Foundation. The title of the event is 'A Royal Affair' as it symbolizes the first flight from JFK to LHR. The gala is scheduled for October 26, 2019.
The 747 was historic in design and concept. The importance of it's design and size was pivotal to lowering the cost of air travel thereby opening travel to many. We envision a cover design to convey a sense of greatness, given the size of the aircraft as well, and to remember her nickname, Queen of the Skies. The cover should also convey a sense of elegance and glamour epitomized by the spiral staircase that leads to the upper deck lounge
