We own a 1980s beach house at the Oregon coast. It is time to upgrade all of the windows and doors, and I want to take the opportunity to upgrade the siding and paint colors as well. The purpose of this project is to help us develop a series of siding types and paint schemes for this house.
We are already upgrading the roof to architectural composition shingles in Antique Black.
We are open to new vinyl windows manufactured with white casings or dark casings - this gives us flexibility as to color schemes.
I am open to new siding styles that you believe would fit the architecture of this home. Lap wood, HardiePlank, shingle, board and batten, vertical clear cedar, stone veneer wainscoting, etc. Cost is not a factor. Use your imagination. Remember that the distinctive beam roof and angled roof fascias are a fixture of this 1980s design, so your concept should embrace that and work with it.
I have included several photos of the house. Your task is to review all of the photos, then select photo 1828 (the full front view/street view of the house) and modify it to reflect your new siding and paint scheme concept. The contest winner will be the the modified photo of the full front view that reflects what I believe is the best overall concept for the look of the house.
