Radius is a nonprofit agency that supports economic development in rural southern Indiana

This project is a front-and-back flyer that provides text and graphics to describe and illustrate some of the programs that Radius is providing in support of our rural region.

Here is the first draft of the text we would like to use on each page: Page 1 - Seeking Opportunities for Agricultural Economic Development (Easier that looking for a needle in a haystack) Radius Indiana has pulled together and is co-leading a 14-county region in southern Indiana looking at opportunities to enhance the growth of the agricultural-related economy in our region. Through Radius’s financial support, a contribution from Hoosier Energy, and contributions from the member counties, we are providing matching funds used by the IEDA to receive a US EDA grant that allows in-depth research by the Purdue Center for Regional Development. With this data and the local efforts of economic developers in each of the counties, the project will led to findings about where growth opportunities exist to bring new businesses into the region, as well as where to give support to existing businesses. The third element of the project will be highlighting opportunity sectors and specific companies that can be aided in their growth. Project completion is expected in 2023. Page 2 - Population Attraction Initiative (Helping People Find the Rural Community they Want to Live IN) A 2018 Radius Board of Directors Strategic Plan that called for workforce and population growth to be a goal of the Radius region has led to numerous initiatives that are broadcasting the region’s desire to attract and retain the civic and business community members who can build business growth, fill employment needs, and fulfill community and civic goal for enhanced livability. Population/Workforce Attraction Activities: Veteran Recruitment – Regional Campaigns and Company Specific campaigns launched and funded by Radius using digital and social media to help recruit new talent to come to the region or to specific companies who are part of the defense sector ecosystem that serves the needs of NSA Crane Choose Southern Indiana – A unique rural, regional approach to the use of cash incentives to attract population growth. Radius initiated this pilot program with willing county partners, and provides 60% of the cost of incentives as well as covering 100% of the cost of the administration and marketing for the program, now entering its second year. Projects are ongoing.
