I AM Studios is a film production company based in Sacramento, CA. We are dedicated to creating diverse, unique and compelling films that are authentic and capture the human experience.

¿Cuál es tu visión?

We are looking to create the official movie poster for our upcoming feature film, Whirlpool. The film is a drama and also full of suspense. It follows the life of our lead Malik Johnson, who is haunted by a lie that could destroy his family. The film also follows the coming-of-age journey of his daughter, Camille. The colors and vibe of the poster should somewhat match the teaser poster (included in attachments). We encourage blue hues, dark tones, and finding a way to create an ominous vibe. I’d like to feature photos of Malik and Camille on the poster, if possible. Also, maybe playing with darkness encompassing Malik, while the light being surrounded by Camille. His life is still somewhat submerged in the shadows, while his daughter is not.

These digital designs are meant to replicate what a physical poster would like after it’s exposed to outdoor elements. Severe sunlight dulls the typography and crisps up the edges of the page, heavy rain causing the colors to bleed and fuse together.

The K3 Film Festival in Villach, Austria, puts a strong focus on its neighbouring tri-cultural area and offers the public a comprehensive overview of the region’s film production. It features a comprehensive programme of short and feature films from Carinthia (Austria), Friuli Venezia Giulia (Italy), Slovenia and an industry meeting including the film commissions of all three regions. The topic of this year´s festival edition will be GRENZEN: LIMITS & BORDERS. The visual concept should not focus too bluntly on the refugee crisis and Europe´s external borders, but should evoke new thoughts on the ambiguity of the German term “Grenzen”, which means as well “limits” as well as “borders” or “frontiers”.

Short plot: "Soy Nero is about Nero, a born and raised Los Angeles resident who gets deported to Mexico. Although he is able to get back home to LA, he is unable to secure a legal means to stay. So he enlists in the Army and gets sent to Iraq. Thousands of Green Card soldiers have fought for our country, and yet thousands get deported." I just love making film posters. There is a bit difference in engagement than in book covers.
