I’m on the board of the Pacific Cup ocean race that goes from San Francisco to Oahu Hawaii. This coming year is our 40th anniversary, and we need to design the poster which will become the race guide cover.
You can see the past guide covers in the centerfold here: https://issuu.com/paccup/docs/pacif…8-14-final (pages 24-25)
This year, I’d like to do a retro Hawaii poster in the style of these:
This poster has some awesome elements:
(I'm ok using most of these elements, just can't rip off the entire thing)
Some of the wording you can use includes:
Pacific Cup 2020
40 Years of Racing
The FUN Race to Hawaii
Sail to the South Seas: San Francisco to Kaneohe
Using this poster as an example: https://shop.tradervics.com/product…ger-poster, you could replace "Trader Vic's" with "Pacific Cup" and "Since 1934" with "Since 1980". It still has to say "The FUN Race to Hawaii" somewhere, maybe across the top. It would be simple, clean, elegant. OK to use the Hawaiian boat and Golden Gate. It's the type of image I'm talking about though.
If possible to integrate a "Pan Am Clipper" into the poster, that would be great too.
The poster should be 18x24, which the ability to make it smaller to be the front cover of the race guide (8.5x11)
