We would like you to design a cover for our cooking DVDs, including the front, back and spine. We will be producing multiple DVDs with different cooking topics, and we would like a cover that can be adapted for each topic.
The DVD series will be called Cooking Essentials. Each DVD will use this as the main title but will cover different cooking topics. For example, our first 3 DVDs might be called:
Cooking Essentials: Kitchen Orientation
Cooking Essentials: Knife Skills
Cooking Essentials: Vegetables
The DVD cover needs to have a consistent look and feel with what has already been used in our website. Please go to http://www.foodell.com to view our existing color palate. The logo for foodell.com is merely the name in the Bree font. We use it both in the orange color that's on the site and in white when on a dark background.
On the front, we would like the title and topic to be prominent and to appear in the top section so that it shows when displayed in a DVD rack. The front cover also needs to look good as a thumbnail, as that is how it will be displayed on the web.
We are inclined to include a photo on the front that is relevant to the topic. For example, for the Knife Skills video we might include the chiffonade photo as shown here: http://foodell.com/members/What_Is.…de+&pid=18
This is merely our thought at this point, not a requirement.
There are 3 things that we envision going on the back of the cover:
1. photo and short bio of Chef Susan (same for all DVDs)
2. isbn number and barcode
3. description of the segments included on the DVD
The foodell.com logo should appear on the front, spine and back.
We talk about foodell as being fun, so the DVD design should be fun; professional without being intimidating.
