Attached is a mock up of the map guide with all the principles of what it needs to have. (Dublin Map Guide 3)
It needs to be A3 in size to be folded 3 times to fit into brochure holders (i.e. 4 panels each side) hope that makes sense. If not let us know.
The Front Panel:
Must be striking and catch peoples attention. Particularly the top half of the front panel which will stick out of the brochure tray and be in full view.
- "Free Pub Guide" across top.
- Then Logo (see attached, if wrong format ask us)
- Then "Map Guides to Irish Pub Culture", "Dublin" . (It is going to be a series around Ireland)
- Then we're thinking photographs of Irish Pub Culture e.g. Pint of Guinness, Music, Dancing, Food, exteriors. We'll Provide the photographs soon. For now please use random pub photos.
The Back Panel:
See attached Doc for text what we're looking for. Basically we want to use the back panel to advertise the discount card and also to show contact information.
Please see the attached file "Dublin Map Area.jpg" for the extent of map required.
Maybe you should trace over the map on Google maps or Bing etc.
We would like white for roads and orange for buildings area (see dnote map.jpg)
On the map we need: pubs, tourist offices (x2), some street names and some landmarks.
>> Pubs and Tourist info: 25 pubs and 2 tourist offices will be marked on the map with a marker for pubs and a tourist information symbol for tourist office. You need to design a cool but simple looking marker that will have a number (1) etc for the pubs. We will give exact locations for pubs later. And use the green tourist info symbol "i" to locate the tourist info offices.
>> Landmarks: We would like to have the spire on O Connell Street marked on the map. We would also like Trinity college marked in green on the map as well as St Stephens Green. (please see attached map for locations).
Inside front panel:
General Info as in General Info word document attached. "Dublin Pub Culture", "How to use this Guide", "About Authors"
We will provide photos of each of the 25 pubs. We have two suggestions. (a) either next to the pub descriptions or (b) grouped together in a collage as in the attached word doc.
Description of pubs:
See description of pubs word document. We will keep our descriptions as short as possible and you can please figure out where to fit them.
We want to use symbols to help readers know what amenities are in the pubs such as live music, food, beer garden etc. Could you please design suitable symbols for each of the following-
Live traditional music (e.g. violin),
Boy meets girl type pub (singles bar)
(see attached example symbols.jpg for ideas but please be creative)
thank you we will update this to make everything clearer.
