Our boxed chocolate chip cookies have been selling well for the past 4 years in about 200 mainly high-end, grocery stores, in L.A.. This is not due to our packaging.
We're independent and different. We have a great product, a dream and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Our dream is to compete successfully against Chips Ahoy on college campuses and in convenience stores, beginning in L.A.. That's what this contest is all about.
Our cookies are a healthier, higher quality alternative to the mass market brands.
We own the registered trademark: "The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies In The World! ®" it's not hype, it's true and strong.
If you want to learn more about us, please take a few minutes to listen to Kevin Smith's comments about our cookies on his podcast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJGiI5fMei0
He's edgy and he "gets us" in his unique NSFW way. We're the independent film makers -of chocolate chip cookies.
This is a tricky project as it requires thought, sophistication and a perfect balance of elements.
We don't want to look like a NABISCO brand, but we want the sophisticated presentation that will allow us to compete with them in the marketplace.
There needs to be a symphony of communication within the 4.7"W x 7"H space of our label.
Our package will alert chocolate chip cookie lovers that there's a new kid on the block who's going to give them the product they deserve.
Judy and I actually sold our dream-home to purchase our own cookie-making equipment. We produce everything under one roof and we have a great team. You can see many of them on the gallery at the lower-right corner of our home page (www.bartsbakery.com)
in 2007, I designed the graphics for our boxes in one day, at home, on photoshop. In spite of the initial criticism, they sell well because the cookies inside are great and we develop incredible loyalty.
Convenience stores are a faster paced, less forgiving merchandising environment.
You'll know you have a great design when you see YOUR package on the pegboard hanging between Chips Ahoy® and Oreo's®. Even on the computer screen, we want you to feel compelled to grab the bag!
We are also running a contest for a POP header.
