We are looking to have a label designed for our new line of hot sauce's. While the company is Adventure by Food, and we want to have the logo of the company on the label, this should be more of a footnote than the main focus. The main focus for this hot sauce label is Bloody Pirate. The idea is that Bloody Pirate is the brand, the story, and Adventure by Food is the company behind the brand.
Here are thoughts / concepts that we want to be sure all designers are aware of: We really like the vintage look. The font provided should be used for Bloody Pirate, but please use a clean font (think of the font Apple Computers uses) for all of the rest of the text. The font used for the text is up to the discretion of the designer, but should flow with the theme and be available without additional purchase needed. The idea is to have a vintage look, almost weathered, while also being elegant and classic.
The design should have a feeling of Artisan Hand Made food. Something that you would see in a Napa Valley Winery, Dean and Deluca, or Whole Foods while also representing the Caribbean during the time of piracy.
The Bloody Pirate is not only a sauce, but a legend we are bringing to life about a pirate from the Caribbean whom lived an adventurous life, enjoyed the finer things (food, liquor, wine, etc), and yet tended to be just and revered by his fellow pirates. He was a robin hood of the Caribbean. This label should artistically feel that way.
We do not have a likeness for the pirate himself, and the mystique is that his image was never captured in writing, so please do not use a stock pirate photo, or illustration of a pirate. Feel free to use a skull, the skull with Peppers crossed underneath, The Jolly Rodger Flag, an illustration of a pirate ship, etc.
IF it can be done and still look classic, timeless, it would be cool to see an old pirate map as the background of the label. Please ONLY include this if it can be done and keep a classic, timeless look.
One end of the label should be the nutritional facts, the other end should include the text from the attached ABF - BP PDF (the story of the Bloody Pirate), the Adventure by Food Logo, and the UPC. The middle area is all about your label design. While each side is defined as above, the entire label should have a design that flows, rather than three chunked out area's. Think one continuous design with three focal points.
We also want to be sure to include an area that allows for bottle numbering, and batch numbering. This is an important aspect as each batch is exclusive and once the batch is gone, it's gone.
