I have a quite distinct look that people remember me by so I would like to try and filter this through into the packaging of the products. I've got a bit of an alternative/rockabilly vibe going on so in no-bullshit terms we're definitely looking for a modern/hipster kind of vibe with the packaging. I want a cool edge that represents me, but also approachable for a more white-bread-with-money audience too.
I have a basic logo that I would like to use, but I am very happy for the designers to work around it, update it, or send me fresh ideas as well. I would like a label designed for my jars to sell at the market. I want to keep my product line open and be able to have the freedom to change up products seasonally so it needs to have a space where I can hand write the name of the product. I thought it could be good to have a stock label that I can use on the front of each jar and then a small swing tag in a complimentary design that I can print individual product details on.
The products will include things like "Pig Mustard", "Smoked Coffee Rub", "Best Chicken Ever Brining Kit", "Umami Paste" etc. My motto for the business is "If it's not delicious, don't bother".
I'm totally open to what shape the labels are, although i would like the printing cost to be kept in check as I'm starting the business with little to no capitol!
As far as the colour palate, I'm very keen on red and I love the combination of red with an aquamarine/sea foam. I like bold black lines - sort of in an old school american tattoo style.
I'll attach some reference pictures to give a better idea.
