The contest holder was very happy to provide feedback in order to collaborate on a satisfactory style. In this I wanted to go sci-fi realistic and make the cover very tactile. I also wanted to make a cover that used the entire spread rather than focus on just the front cover. I made the hero image of the book wrap around the spin and back to encourage the reader to follow around to the back of the book.")

I did not want to go very literal with imagery; instead I wanted to imply the spread, dilusion and death of the killer plant of the story. Plants alone may not be creepy on their own but the transmission of spores can have that skin crawling effect; so combining ink drop brushes and ferns with heightened colour saturations I thought this to be a cleaver approach to the book cover.")

Since I could first grip some paper and glue I was off creating something. I have had a wide range of arts-related jobs to tap into for imaginative creation over the years. Graphic design has since become my favoured medium for design and communications.
