Hugh’s Hot Bowls was founded by Hugh Augustine in 2020 because of his love for community. He started cooking in catering kitchens as a young boy through his mother’s business. His grandmother was one of the first black women to get involved in Los Angeles politics in the 1980s running for city council and setting the tone for the family’s legacy in community organizing. This ignited a fire under Hugh to always share with the community through music and food.")
