One main logo, which is the one at the top, two badges and a \"woodworked\" apple icon. The typography is strong to communicate the strength of wood and masculinity (as per the brief). The main typeface used also carries some original features, with eye-catching cuts and angles that make you think of craftmanship and in this context furniture construction and woodworking . The apple icon or symbol is derived from the name Appleyard. Together with a wooden texture on the inside of the apple and the bark on the edges it represents what the company in fact do, which is \"live she slab style furniture with one or more live, organic edges on it.\" I decided to use the clients preferred colors of dark neutrals and oranges, adding gold for a touch of class and high quality feel. All in all, this brand system communicates mature and sophisticated woodworking of the finest quality.")

The illustration of Pete in a round badge and the typographic choices combined with the slight distress of all the design elements communicates legacy and authenticity. The color palette consisting of a pale beach orange and an off black together with the organic and individually placed halftone pattern in the illustration (meant to represent grains of sand) hints at the restaurants beachside location.
