Nonetheless, I loved every single detail because I got to acquire a tremendous amount of new skills. Given the aimed platform—the iPad—there were a lot of things we had to think of and plan ahead very seriously. One of the first things we had to do was to think differently than the design for classic print magazines. I created an InDesign template with a strong navigation structure to be used for creating each upcoming issue. We focused on a clean layout with easy-to-read text and beautiful imagery to make each page memorable.")

He said he was the type of author who writes a story that has more to it than meets the eye. He strived for an eye-catching, simple design with easy-to-read fonts. Classy, yet captivating. He also desired a classic painting depicting a caravan traveling across the desert to take up the entire upper part of the cover. These days, strong contrasts, shinny finishes, or minimalistic elements seem to tilt the balance towards modern book cover design. Creating a clasic cover that doesn't look boring is pretty hard. For The Glowing Globe, I first started with a thorough research for the perfect public domain painting that we could use. Then I strived to get the classic touch and feel by splitting the cover into clear sections. This was a common look of vintage classic books. Finally, I helped the overall design stand out by working on the colors and contrasts of the photo.")

I looked for a great symbol for transformation—a butterfly metamorphosis. The clean look gave me generous negative space to have highly visible text. By playing with the layout and the colors, I made the back look well balanced and creative. It’s never easy to revamp a cover that has already been published. But in Damion’s case, it was easier because the first cover didn’t look very good, sorry Damion! Our final redesign proved once again that less is more! I'm extremely proud and happy Damion has chosen to work with me!")

My vision came naturally from the very beginning. I wanted to create a scene to convey the feeling of intimacy that we can establish with money. I aimed for a concept that would make people see beyond the everyday stress. There is no secret in this: money can offer comfort and a sense of freedom at the same time. That’s why I chose to use the image of a beautiful beach with a swing made out of money to subtly convey comfort and freedom. Life coaching is not easy—it carries a lot of emotional involvement and responsibility. Life coaching can only be done by professionals who can really help people conquer their everyday problems and fears. Nogie’s personality is definitely the right one. I felt a true pleasure and real connection working with her!")

These can be worked out beautifully through a close collaboration with the client. That is exactly how the design for Rebel Entrepreneur evolved. Initially, I started with a different approach for the main graphics. I proposed a stylized fist with the four subtitle elements displayed on the knuckles. Mark felt that the fist was looking a bit too violent for who he really is. So he came up with the idea of using a Phoenix Bird because it also symbolized the change that took place in his life. Additionally, I came up with the four iconic elements to sustain the subtitle visually and then I worked on creating am eye catchy focal point to fit the whole transformation theme. The bright center and the strong contrast made the cover a great eye-grabber.")

Yet, I wanted the cover to look uncluttered per se. To reach the best balance, I created a clean central area where I set up my meditating character. This gave me plenty of negative space to combine the speed lines and small internet icons without overwhelming the cover. The color choice wasn’t accidental either. I wanted colors to appeal to the broad audience. Having quite an active online presence myself, the subject of Meditation in the iGeneration spoke to me instantly. I was extremely happy that the creative scene I made was exactly what Andrew needed to send his message to the world.")

Since her book is a memoir, having her photo on the cover was the perfect choice to convey the personal touch and feel that we needed. Turns out it was spot on, she loved it from the very first draft. Joann was extremely kind to send me a printed copy of her finished book. I must admit I read it from start to finish without even breathing. The book is about the extremely difficult times Joann went through. Her natural and genuine tone of voice makes her book really easy-to-read and extremely personal. She has had an amazing success with Beating the Odds ever since she published it and I am really happy to be a part of it!")

The cover needed to convey the idea of freedom. I was very happy that Tiffany didn’t want a typical design based on romantic clichés, like hearts and such. We both agreed that something on the wild side would work better for her cover. I choose the symbol of the American road because the traveling idea behind Tiffany’s life adventure was more important than the romance itself. It wasn’t necessarily the dating but the journey that turned to be life changing. I loved this project from the very beginning. I loved the fact that Tiffany’s book was based on such an original adventure and I truly admired her courage! For sure, \"Fifty Dates in Fifty States\" is the right book for the single ladies. It is the proof there is still hope out there and it can also come with a lot of fun and adventure.")

My goal was to reflect the most important features of Skinny Dipping: sexy, romantic, and fun. Since the book needed to look good in thumbnail view for e-Publishing, I had to think how to use the cover’s real estate the best way possible. My compromise was to make the cover look special and spicy. The element of surprise was the illustration of a beautiful sexy young woman placed inside a heart shaped life ring. That’s how I managed to get the best out of the three main features: sexy (the young woman,) romantic (the heart shaped life ring,) and fun (the position of the woman inside the life ring.) To finish the cover, I made the title highly visible and added subtle ornaments around the title to make it look more feminine.")

I strived for an out-of-the-box design so I didn’t use cliché elements, like laptops. Instead, I decided to focus on depicting the idea of the journey to wealth. My final cover scene also conveyed the idea of moving to the Caribbean which was an important part of Antoine’s story. My cover looks upscale and speaks about living a luxurious life. The beautiful yacht driven towards a private island represents the ultimate luxury. The title is eye-catching and highly visible, occupying 80% of the cover. My clean colorful approach made this cover a very elegant, eye-catchy and effective E-book. Antoine was extremely pleased with the outcome and so was I!")
