We are a volunteer board of residents of the Tangletown Neighborhood in Minneapolis, Mn. We focus on fostering community through various events centered around neighborhood businesses and seasonal gatherings. We have had success in educating and implementing programs concerned with sustainability. We are also focused on maintaining beautiful spaces for our neighborhood. Our immediate audience are the neighbors and residents; however, an extension of that would be residents of our broader city and visitors to our neighborhood.
¿Qué te inspira y qué diseño imaginas para tu empresa?
We would like to have banners designed which would be hung from lamp-posts along major thoroughfares in the neighborhood. The design will be applied in two sizes (30" x 60", and 16" x 32"). It should feature, or include the word Tangletown, or Tangletown Neighborhood. It should be legible to passersby when placed on the lamp-posts overhead.
The attached file includes imagery and a brief overview of the neighborhood and aspects of the project. There are two designs included in the attachment that have been used for the neighborhood and association. Feel free to use these as inspiration, but these are not intended to be implemented in their current iteration for the banners.
The design should generally convey the sense of charm that draws people to a neighborhood characterized by older houses, winding tree-lined streets, and independent shops. The design can convey a sense of style though it should not be overtly trend-based. It can lean more text-based, or it can include elements that are more image-based, though photography would not be generally appropriate.
The banners are intended to be a standalone icon for the neighborhood, they will not be seasonal, or event oriented.
What we are looking for:
-A stand alone design, refer to attachments for rough examples of other, similar projects
-Could take the form of a logo, icon, insignia
-Must include either Tangletown or Tangletown Neighborhood
What we are NOT looking for:
-Does not need to include contact information
-Not reliant on full color photos/photography
-Should not have a commercial/trade-show look
Suggestions for jumping-off points:
-Abstraction of water tower referenced in .pdf, or architectural/sculptural elements featured on the tower
-A uniquely designed “T”, perhaps an adaptation of the bronze “T” insignia featured in the .pdf (though it cannot be a direct re-use of that design)
-A design could be conceptually tied to the uniquely curving/tangled streets that are indicative of the neighborhood
