The 48th and Chicago business district is a small but thriving traditional commercial node within a residential neighborhood in south Minneapolis (Minnesota). Homes and buildings within the neighborhood were primarily developed in the 1920s.
Current businesses include mainly locally-owned, independent restaurants and bars, cafes, a one-screen movie theater, several retail shops and a number of service-type businesses such as a bank, a credit union, medical and wellness clinics, a veterinary hospital, a retail photography studio, a liquor store, a salon, several attorney offices, and a fencing school.
