About the exhibition:
The AIOH Conference & Exhibition is an annual event run by the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienist for anyone associated with the hygienist community. The theme of this year’s event is Connect2Prevent. The theme represents both the connection of hygienists as a part of the workplace to prevent occupational diseases such as cancer, and also the general connection of the professional industry as a whole that will occur during the conference.
What are we trying to achieve at this exhibition?
Air-Met is an annual attendee and sponsor of this event. In additional to sponsorship, we would normally exhibit at this exhibition with a double booth, some new products that may be of interest to the hygienist community and provide giveaways such as a show bag etc.
The community of occupational hygienists in Australia isn’t very large and most will be attending this event. As much as this is a networking opportunity (all state managers from our company attend this event), it’s part of an ongoing marketing strategy. Increasing brand awareness especially to new and graduate hygienists and ensuring that we are there among all our competitors (this is the go to event for hygienists) are some of our top objectives.
Our competitors include the following:
• Active Environmental
• Gastech Australia
• ThermoFisher Scientific
• Eco Environmental
The task is to design the artwork for our backdrop banner for our booth with various robots undertaking tasks that a current hygienist would be doing in today’s age.
Occupational hygienists work across a wide range of industries, such as mining, manufacturing, construction, health services, government, defence and academia and as a result, the hazards they encounter varies. Occupational hygienists specialise in the assessment, management and control of:
• Chemical hazards (e.g. asbestos, lethal gases, dust etc)
• Physical hazards (e.g. heat and cold, noise, hand and whole body vibration, radiation)
• Biological hazards (e.g. such as bacteria, endotoxins, fungi, viruses)
Playing on the theme and their job description, we would like to have a background designed with the following elements. Ideally this would be a mash up of the images named bkg inspiration):
• Futuristic wasteland
• Polluted air
• Power station towers
• Biochambers of toxic slush
3-7 robots will be required to perform various environmental monitoring tasks in the image. Some in the foreground (life size wearing no equipment), mid ground (with equipment drawn on) and background (with equipment drawn on).
We need two robots doing two different tasks in the foreground. These need to be lifesize, the same size as a human who would be 1.8m in height.
Robot 1 to be in the same position and undertaking the same task as the image “confined space gas monitoring.jpg”. The robot should be measuring the gas in the confined space for to check gas build up levels.
Only draw the tube but not the instrument in the human’s hand as we will replace this with a real instrument which we will stick to the wall.
Robot 2 will need to work in a polluted/dusty environment. We need someone maybe with a clipboard wearing a hardhat checking a site. We will then put a real life size air sampling pump in the life-size robot as a human would be wearing. See image “personal air sampling pump”
Mid ground robots can be working e.g. in a sewerage site and all wearing a range of gas detectors. Please draw these gas detectors in. Refer to images named “gas detectors” for how these are worn and for some poses that could be applicable.
At least 3 of these robots will need to be in the background. Robots near the telecommunication towers will need to carry a Radiation Monitor – refer to image provided.
Any other robots in the background or mid ground is up to you.
The looks of the robots need to be human-like, similar to the robots from the movie iRobot starring Will Smith.
• The left side of the backdrop will need to feature the biochambers of slush or similar. We will then hire an oil drum or similar to use as a counter for the Slushy Machines (we are serving refreshments) so please leave space for this.
• Including the Air-Met logo somewhere. E.g. on a factory wall etc.
• The text PREVENTION? nice and large incorporated into the background.
Refer to mock up for sample layout details. Have an even more creative design? Feel free to submit that also as we are open to suggestions as long as it fits our requirements for this exhibition.
Air-Met have booked a double booth. Booth 25+29 (see image attached) We will have no dividing walls, only the back wall where the artwork will be featured.
The dimensions of a single booth are shown in image: Single Shell Booth Diagram.jpg
Dimensions required for the artwork will be double this so: 2500mm (h) x 6000mm (l)
