What: This is a podcast about making business decisions and the decision-making process. In the podcast we will discuss the decision making methodology and the discipline needed to separate decisions from outcomes. We will also discuss specific actions, tips, skill sets, education etc. that the listeners can benefit from if they find themselves in similar situations. The podcast will be distributed through iTunes and Google play. The podcast will have its promotional pages on Facebook and Twitter.
Why: We hear lot of leaders talk about motivation and inspiration as the key ingredients of getting success. I totally believe that motivation and inspiration are a must to achieve any goal. But is it enough? All of us find ourselves at a crossroads where we are stuck in a dilemma about making a decision and we do not know how to rationally think about it, what framework to follow and how not let outcomes determine if the decision-making process was the right process or not. We also need specific plans, tips, advice and other small but relevant details that can help us make that management choice, that business determination, and that entrepreneurial resolution that will be a major turning point in our life. It is not that we do not have inspiration or motivation. But we may be lacking that tip, skill, advice or a framework that can help us make a choice, make a decision and resolve the dilemma to achieve success in business or career. We pat ourselves on our back for good results and are critical to ourselves for bad results. But do we really think and reflect that, irrespective of the results we got, did we go through the right decision making process? If a game plan that made the most sense at that time did not give us the desired results then was that right game plan that we would play again and again if given a similar situation? How do we separate the element of luck from the decision-making process so we are more cosnsitent in our approach and have more control and understanding of the results? Through the process of interviews this podcast aims to provide such decision-making and conflict resolution details that add on to the motivation and inspiration that can help us win the crossroads.
Who: Business managers, organization leaders, entrepreneurs, business owners, in fact most of us can potentially benefit from this podcast as we all go through these decision-making process in our lives. Though our specific issues will be different but the context and frameworks can broadly apply to all of us. We will also find out that we are not the only ones who find ourselves in this quandary. Though, that we are not alone is not a relief in itself but it shows that if others have found a way to resolve conflicts then we can as well. On that note, this podcast is best suited if you are a business owner, entrepreneur, business manager or organization leader. But more importantly, if this podcast can help you transform in your decision-making process then we are all winners.
How: Through guest interviews we will share stories of others like us who have gone through major turning points in their lives and have come out successfully in their careers and business settings. We will not interview those who qualify their decision-making process by the quality of the results they got, as good results can be obtained, at times, with bad decisions. But we will talk to those people who do understand what was the right decision process given the information and constraints they had at that time and what learnings they got from this process, what would they change if they had to go back in time and what advice they have to share with others.
