Design Vertical's VX4 Pilot Flight test badge!

Vertical was launched in 2016 with a big vision: to transform the way the world travels through pioneering electric aviation. Combining the extreme engineering spirit of Formula 1 and the world-renowned heritage of British engineering, over the last six years we’ve been designing the VX4, our electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL).     With a fierce belief in the power of technology to advance society, the VX4 will be a faster, safer, affordable, and more sustainable way to travel. In December 2021 we unveiled our full-scale model to the world, with the first tethered flight taking place in Spring 2022, and the world’s first eVTOL piloted flight this summer. Our primary audiences are our global technology and aerospace partners, investors, and industry, but we will also use this opportunity to grow wider consumer awareness of the transformative benefits zero-emissions aviation will bring to our planet.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to design our Pilot flight test badge for Vertical’s first ever eVTOL flight this summer! The badge will go on all our pilot uniforms and is seen within aerospace as a symbolic memento of that flight. This badge is a representation of our first flight, and we encourage you to have fun and be bold. There’s a few things to keep in mind: The badge must be round – 9cm in diameter It should include Vertical’s brand name, and reference the VX4 It should show the aircraft design in some form. Colour is encouraged! We’re proud to be a leading British company in this space, so we’d be interested to see how we could bring our heritage into the design .

We have attached a sheet that shows references that includes a competitor, Nasa, Space X and various fighter jet programmes. Designs vary, but they often include colour, are visually bold and unique to that company. In December 2020 we launched a reveal of the VX4, which you can see on our YouTube channel here. We've also included images of the VX4 in the attached deck.
