¿Qué idea tienes, qué estilo te gusta para tu t-shirt?
Open to visual style as long as fits with our overall aesthetic...keep in mind our audience is into green, sustainable, regenerative...We have done white on black and black on white of the same design as we provide the t-shirts to our staff to wear (gets our guests excited about buying one for themselves), by doing positive and negative it gives our staff to styles to wear as they wear these t-shirts throughout week. You have not real limits to design - use the logo, use your own art, use images from our site/facebook/blog - use text - go for it. AS for number of colors, I'd like to keep it simple. One color is preferred, 2 colors OK, but multi-colored, hmmm, it better be a damn good design. I know our logo has two colors.
We are entering our 4th year of operations, what I call season 4. Every year we do a different t-shirt. Previously they have been simple. Last year we did our turtle log large on the side of the T-shirt. This year, I want to take it up a notch. If it can have some illusion to 4, or 4 of something, to indicate our 4th season, that would be cool. It should include our company name - Playa Viva, and our Logo, the Turtle, if it includes our tagline "Where Your Vacation Meets Your Values" that's ok but not necessary. It can state Zihuatanejo, Mexico or our more accurate location (which nobody will recognize but that's ok - Juluchuca, GRO (name of state) Mexico) that's ok too. The key is a cool design. See our website at http://www.playaviva.com for sense of aesthetic, ok if it goes beyond the site - see some recent photos on http://www.playaviva.com/facebook to see some updated content.
Lo que debe evitarse
don't offend our audience...otherwise, go for it! Our audience is LOHAS - lifestyle of health and sustainability. This is not the urban scene, this is NOT the hipster scene, this is more of your Austin, Boulder, Berkeley scene but upscale - good taste - I like to say that our audience are those folks who drive a Prius, shop at Whole Foods, take yoga classes, listen to NPR, love authentic and experiential travel, are foodies, love quality films, read the NYTimes, etc. The design should be hip but intelligent. Artsy and tasteful. Edgy but thoughtful. Make sense? If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
