Avvo is launching a promotion on June 6th that gives startups a pretty amazing offer:
"Ask a startup-related legal question on Avvo and if you don't get an answer from an Avvo-certified lawyer in 72 hours, we'll pay you $100."
Full copy for the page is attached.
We need 1 page designed to serve as the landing page for this promotion, where the primary goal is to get visitors to ask a startup-related legal question. The page itself will have a field for people to type in a question and submit it.
You have complete creative freedom to do whatever it takes to make an awesome landing page. Don't worry about making the page look like it fits well with the design on Avvo.com. There is no color scheme to follow. In fact, the design on Avvo.com is much too corporate and sanitized to work well for this project, anyway.
3 main factors will decide the winner:
1) Design creativity: this page will be viewed by people who are passionate about web design and creative, so it needs to "wow" them.
Maybe you'll use illustrations, maybe a photo, maybe neither...whatever it is, it's got to be top notch. It absolutely should not look corporate or bland. No cheesy stock photography of attractive, sharply-dressed people smiling by computers allowed.
You have to remember that we're targeting entrepreneurs who are eating ramen and creating startups in their garages...so something in your design needs to resonate with that crowd.
2) How well the page resonates with the audience: 25-44 years old, mostly-male, college-educated, computer-programming, creative, forward-thinking, tech entrepreneurs.
3) How well the page functions as a landing page, with the goal being to maximize questions submitted.
The page must include Avvo's logo somewhere: http://www.avvo.com/partner_with_us/link_to_us
The logo doesn't have to follow the normal color scheme of black with the blue kite; it can be any color you want, as long as it's monochromatic.
If you use photos, you MUST be able to show the source of the images and we must be able to buy the rights to use it on our website.
-- This contest is also a recruitment effort to find a new designer we can use for projects in the future--
