Over 20 years in the fields of training, Change Management and Organizational Effectiveness. During the past nine years, he was with Shell Oil Company, in Houston as a Senior Consultant on global and national projects and as the Training Manager at a Delaware refinery.
Prior to joining Shell, he was a diplomat at U.S. Embassies in Turkey, Germany, and Hungary. He was with an NGO in Egypt and spent two years in Indonesia consulting with oil companies.
MS in Human Resource Development from Indiana State University and a PhD in Education from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville). Trained in coaching by Coach U.
Dr. Ward is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), and the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD).
He has certifications in Emotional Intelligence (Texas A&M, Center of Emotional Intelligence), Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (Consulting Psychologists Press), and Input Output Process Template (IOPT, a team development tool, Professional Communications, Inc.)
Recipient of a Sustained Superior Performance Award from the State Dept, and two Shell Oil Company Special Recognition Awards for his work on two global projects, in HR and Finance, and a Commendation from the President of Shell Global Solutions for his work in HSE Change and Communications.

Customer base- manufacturing businesses. But coaching is a 1:1 individual process with anyone. Engineers, Human Resource and Safety professionals in mid level mgt positions are the target audience in manufacturing. General coaching is open to anyone. All three manufacturing groups are visually oriented, data driven folks. They work with spreadsheets, metrics business targets with all kinds of charts and graphs, usually on PowerPoint. Engineers are generally weaker in people skills and want it all on a spreadsheet, HR pros are about people skills and Safety professionals try to get employees working in oil and chemical refineries to change their behaviors on safety (Intervene with a coworker if you see them doing something unsafe.)
