Home Page: Needs to instantly tell the visitor who we are, through presentation of our lifestyle images (visual branding) and thoughtfully named categories. Easy navigation and search, and access to our social shares and blog. Need a wholesale link somewhere on our homepage above the fold. Important that we engage customers visually, and with incentives to buy/follow/share as soon as they hit the page, but subtly.
Category Page: Introduce the customer to a more in depth visual and written description of what we sell, and how those products fit into their lives. Maintain clean and organized aesthetic. Single navigation bar at category level. Some room for text to introduce sub categories. Subcategory links as images. See category pages on shopterrain.com
Product Listing Page: Clear view of the product presented, in a way that encourages spontaneous purchase. Capability to zoom in fairly close on product photos. Big add to cart photo.
