Design powerful web pages for a global online retail company

We are an online retail company, selling products directly to consumers in over 60 countries. Handelnine Global is a house of brands and all our online sales are carried-out on the respective brand sites. The target audience for the corporate web pages design (this brief) includes current and prospective employees, potential investors, service providers, vendors, partners, media, regulatory bodies, industry peers and maybe even customers buying from the sub-brands. The purpose of these pages is to provide information about the corporate holding entity and we are not planning any sales or conversion-led activities through them.

The current website is at handelnine.com but we find it too basic and text heavy. We are expecting something significantly evolved, in comparison to the current website.

The webpages must be professional and elegant. Free rein to the designer with respect to imagery, fonts and colours - without violating the basic elements of our style guide (logo colours etc.). One key point to note is that the logo with a solid blue circle (attached) is the primary one and needs to appear on the page header, while the outline-only variants can be used in other places, if needed. Overall, we’re fine with a dark-themed design as well.

We want the participants to submit designs for the home page, as per the following brief. Given the number of expected sections, we’ve split the page into 3 parts and the contest reward is for 3 pages. Participants can submit one part at a time, and finish the rest as we give you feedback on the initial design. Part 01: 1. Our Brands - Include the text: We conceive, launch, nurture and grow brands to a global scale using our in-house resources and expertise. Each brand is built around a unique product niche and philosophy. - Showcase the following 6 brands. Brand logos have been attached and the product niche is mentioned next to each brand. You are free to design this section using relevant stock images to emphasise the product categories under each brand, along with the brand logo. The Bedrock of Our Business We believe in building in-house capabilities to reduce external dependencies across all areas of our business. We created direct sales channels instead of relying solely on ecommerce marketplaces. We also set-up fulfilment offices in major cities around the world and this unified logistical backend is shared by all our brands. Strong supplier relationships and delivery partnerships in multiple countries allow us to handle local and cross-border deliveries with ease. All our brands also benefit from the compounding of strategic expertise, capabilities in technology and marketing, and even a common pool of capital and other resources. This bedrock of ecommerce infrastructure is a product of significant investment and is being further strengthened through continuous experimentation and learning. 5. Our Story Following text to be included in this section: We started as the ecommerce division of an adventure sports company, back in 2015, targeting a single geographic market by selling through online marketplaces. Encouraged by our success in the first four years, and armed with strong learnings from that period, we decided to set up as an independent venture. Handelnine Global was founded in 2019, launching concurrently in the USA and India. We are planning to work with the winner of this contest to design the full website as well as the mobile version of all pages.
