Most importantly, the site must be easy to use, with clear navigation and should, as much as possible, encourage users to engage and interact with the community by posting questions and comments, interacting with other users, joining groups, etc.
1. Homepage with categories (public community)
On the home page we want to display all categories and the latest Expert question and answers (threads). Threads should display the most recent first. For each thread we want to display meta data as title, category, tags, date, user (author) and number of replies. Threads will be categorized per expertise (e.g. ISO 27001, GDPR, ISO 9001, etc.) so the navigation should be organized to follow the same logic. Navigation through categories and threads should be easy so that users can quickly access subjects of interest.
2. Thread in category (forum)
On single thread page we want to display initial post with meta data such as title, category, tags, date, user (author), number of replies, upvote/downvote score with option to vote, sharing icon and bookmark icon should be displayed. There should be options to post reply on initial post, and to post reply on those replies. All replies should be nested and logically connected to the post to which the reply was submitted. All replies within a thread should display user (author), date, upvote/downvote score with option to vote and sharing icon. There should be editor for posting new comments with option to insert quotes and emojis in a reply. First (initial) post in thread should be slightly different (distinguished) from other replies. Suggested threads should be displayed at the bottom of the thread. From thread view users should be able to easily navigate to any other category or thread.
3. Static FAQ’s page
We want to display listed FAQ articles so that users can quickly find answers without searching community. All main FAQ article titles should preferably be listed in sidebar. On clicking a specific FAQ title, article content will be displayed. For FAQ articles with sub-topics, accordion should be used. Upvote/downvote score with option to vote, sharing icon and bookmark icon should be displayed at the end of FAQ articles. Related articles should be displayed under the FAQ article.
4. Documents and videos area
On particular documents/videos pages we want to list all the items associated with current taxonomy (creating folder structure) thus enabling navigation and filtering. On any page, whether taxonomy view or single document/video view, there should be navigation/filtering menu for switching from one taxonomy to another, along with the link to the root page. Each listed item should display title (file name), file type (icon), description, upload date and links to directly download the file or see file details. On detailed item view, an embedded preview will be displayed along with, title, upload date, download link, upvote/downvote score with option to vote, sharing icon and bookmark icon.
5. Wiki articles
For each Wiki article we want to display title, content, users (authors) and publish date. Along to that, there should be displayed version history (e.g. revision, update date, user contributors, link to article history, etc.). Upvote/downvote score should be displayed along with the option to vote, a sharing icon and bookmark icon.
As in any other community website, there should be functionality for user control such as login/logout, registration, display of username and avatar, ability to edit user data, etc.
There should be header and footer section on every page. Header should contain Advisera’s logo, search input, menu and user control functions and in height should be kept as low as possible. The top footer section should contain placeholders for useful links or promotion of Advisera’s products and services. At the far bottom, there should be a copyright section containing Advisera’s logo, copyright info, placeholders for links, Norton SSL seal and social icons.
