Landing page gives the user confidence that this is an established organization with a powerful database and credibility.
A. Credibility is established through the founder profile (since 1972) with links/images to:
1. our media coverage
4. ability to follow us on social media.
B. The main goal of the website is lead conversion, so it has to draw them into:
(a) entering the item they want to sell or
(b) the city they want to get selling options from
(Look at GOTJUNK site where they ask you to put in your zip code... it stands out)
C. Having the rotating pictures with the prices things sold for like in the sketches provided is probably a good attention getter.
I like the airbnb.com page with it's clean look and things in tabs below (what's new, etc.)
This page should have the
a. common header as main page
b. logo section (maybe this is part of the header)
c. left column for naviation / featured (unless you think footer would be a cleaner look like with Airbnb.com)
d. main contents section
e. footer as the main page
The LEFT column in the sub pages will have lead conversion elements on each page:
(A) entering the item they want to sell or
(B) the city they want to get selling options from (and a couple of endorsements, media coverage, testimonials, etc. in rotating format (unless you think that this is better to put in the footer section)
We are also having a logo contest... see here: http://99designs.ca/logo-design/con…old-127217
