Blackstone's Pub & Grill
We have been working in construction for the past 10 years and wanted to bring some life back to the community in downtown Flint, Michigan. It has been a long road, but a fulfilling one to see our project take wings. The problem is developing an online presence that captures the energy and atmosphere we try to deliver to our customers at the restaurant. It's a great place to come eat and be entertained by live music and traditional Irish fair. Our interior is filled with images of the old Flint with black and whites as well as other memorabilia and decor is mostly stained wood with black panels and brick. We have a 50 foot mahogany bar and a large etched glass behind the bar with our logo which is attached.
We would really like to see our site become an appealing place to go to find upcoming events and news. Long term we will also offer some bar gear, but will not be a big part of the site and keep the focus on the events and news. It is important to us to showcase other groups and performers from the Flint area and would like to emphasize the positive things in the community.
You can see our current page at blackstonesgrill.com and our second version at blackstonesgrill.businesscatalyst.com.
Our target audience is 35-55, but the site will be a target for 25-55. We will be attempting to market via the social networks and have both a Twitter and Facebook account. The Twitter account is already displayed on our temporary page at blackstonesgrill.businesscatalyst.com. Newsletters will be going out via email on a regular basis for anyone that signs up.
We are very flexible on creative requirements, but would like to have space for functionality that should be on the main page template. You can see the second version of the site at blackstonesgrill.businesscatalyst.com, ideally we would like to keep a section of the template for the announcements and possibly the calendar even though they are redundant it will be the major draw for our customers. The twitter log should also remain on the first page as well as the newsletter sign up. Our customers may not make it very deep in the page and we want to give them as much as possible on landing. We are completely flexible on the overall color scheme, but want to keep it simple like the logos attached.
The font is not a requirement; however the following link will provide you with the base font for the current logo http://font-styles.com/cool-fonts-221.html it's called Cry Uncial.
It would be really cool to use both the coat of arms logo attached and the custom drawing in the template. The owner drew the sketch himself.
Besides the main template we also need a simple template for other pages such as the menu/photo gallery/store. Again if you look at the second version of the site you will see a scaled back template as an example.
For anyone that made it this far we would like to say thank you for taking the time and helping us bring life back to downtown Flint, Michigan!!
