Header: 3 main things must be here: 1. Brand Logo, 2. My account (login, wishlist, my bag) and 3. Customer service (live chat, phone numbers and email).
Below the header, the navigation menu from left to right will be: Diamonds, Engagement Rings, Earrings, Education and a small search box at the end
Below the navigation menu a big banner (occupying most of what space remains above the fold) from side to side (with 2-3 alternating images) and 1 easy to see Call to action button per image in a style, colour and text that stands out CLEARLY.
Below the banner a wide box (but not very tall) with a small navigation menu at the top (Bespoke, Ring size guide, GIA Diamonds, Free Shipping, 30 Day returns, Testimonials). Below the navigation (but inside the wide box) an image for each category and a call to action button. As the mouse hovers over the menu
the visual content of the box should change accordingly.
See http://www.pandora.net/en-gb/ for reference.
Below the box comes the trust seals (VISA, MASTERCARD, WORLDPAY, GIA, Paypal, BJA, Trustwave trusted commerce, Goddady.com verified & secure).
Then above, the footer which will be the same across all the website. It's divided into three sections (each containing a series of links that will be later detailed).
* The company: about us, 30 days returns, etc....
* Shop at our store: Sales, engagement rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets...
Somewhere in the home there should be a sign up to newsletter form.
The home page as a whole should have a short length so that it's very fast to scroll down.
PRODUCT SEARCH PAGE
The navigation to be the same as the home page
Attached is a picture showing the following descriptions
Below the navigation will be the area where the images will slide from left to right or right to left, the same way images slide using google images on the ipad or as Apple's Cover Flow view.
The selected cover (product) must have the name of the item, a large image, short description, price and a 'View ring' button.
The pictures on the left and the right will be smalller and only show the ring and the price at that point.
However users that don't like cover flow should also have the choice of browsing the product search page by watching the products on thumbnails (3 per row) with a short description and price.
The total of rows to show is flexible, the user can choose to see up to 18 per page. To see more the user must click on 'Next page'.
Users will be able to tailor their search by specifying price range, metals and ring mounts, to do so just on top of the product images (whether cover flow or thumbnails) there will be a slider bar for price (similar to blue nile http://www.bluenile.com/uk/diamond-…?track=btn.
Next to the price slider is the metal selection with the options of 9ct white gold, 18ct white gold, 9ct yellow gold, 18ct yellow gold, platinum and silver.
The ring mount selection is done through three radio buttons (Solitaire, Pave and Three stones), they should be visible above the fold.
A chat with a Jewellery consultant now button also needs to be visible on the page.
Just above the footer a small section for trust (can end up being customer reviews, Press coverage etc).
And the footer section at the bottom with all the navigation links (Home, search, etc....) and social media.
