The first page of the website is the landing page to learn more about the application. This will be similar in concept to the website of http://www.getflow.com/ .
The other page of the site will be the dashboard of the application once a user has registered. This will be similar in concept to the internal application used by http://www.getballpark.com/ .
The color schemes of the pages should be complimentary, but the design of the two should obviously not be identical since one is a website landing page and the other is an application dashboard. The colors should consist of only 2 dominant colors for simplicity's sake.
The feel for these sites should be inspired by the same style used by MetaLab (http://www.metalabdesign.com/), the creators of Flow and Ballpark.
The emphasis of these sites is simple, somewhat minimalistic. Studying MetaLab's designs will give you an idea of the feel we are going for.
Fonts/typefaces for the site is strict since our CSS will be based on the font-family of Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, so this means that all designs must use Helvetica Neue or Helvetica as their only typeface.
We will be using the 960 grid system to build this site, and the layout must be a centered style. So the layout of the page must be 960 pixels wide and centered on the page.
I have attached a black and white version of our logo, because I do not want the colors or anything about the logo to affect the design of the site or application. If necessary I will have the logo modified to fit the design of the application. Please do not use the logo or draw any inspiration from it.
The first page which is the website will have the following navigational items: How it Works, Sign Up, and Login. There should probably be a placeholder somewhere on this page for an intro video.
The dashboard of the application will have the following navigational items: Summary, Estimates, Projects, Reports. The dashboard page is the Summary page, which is in essence has short lists of recent estimates, projects, and reports.
