We exist to help the owners of copyright - music publishers who own compositions (written lyrics, notes, melody, and tone of the song) and record labels who own master recordings (the actual recorded music by an artist, band, or dj...a cover of a song is a new master recording, but uses the same underlying composition).
We help them organize their catalogs so that they can be paid from music services like YouTube, SoundCloud, iTunes and more.
Our primary business offering is to collect and pay royalties.
We share with our clients and the greater music business free catalog management software and informational guides on how the music business works. We also blog on announcements, updates, news, and topical information. Our social media effort is pretty dismal.
We really work hard to be transparent and and forthright...helpful and humble in our effort. It is really working out well.
We originally started working with YouTube and fell in love with the brilliant red. While the YouTube logo is a PLAY button, our’s is RECORD.
The main goal of the site is to drive newsletter signups, and from there to use Exploration Data, our Catalog Management Software. Our authoritative guides on how the music business works have created incredible goodwill and more will be added in the coming months and years.
