PREMIUM EXAMPLE SITES:
Here are sites I think are more follow because their owners literally spend millions on making them great and tracking their results:
Site fills the screen width-wise; Text is large and there's not so much of it on the home page; Large graphics (more than 2/3 height on laptop screen); Slogans and taglines (Intelligence without IT, Generating higher value, ; graphics are clickable; Twitter scroll (@IBM) on bottom
. http://www.microsoft.com Large graphic (about 1/2 page area on laptop screen), next/prev arrows on graphics; large text and small amounts, dual methods of navigation - by products or by product "where used" home, work, pros, developers; when you scroll down the home pages you find more different ways to navigate the site (top products, product support, popular downloads, top resources, popular searches)
Tag line "High performance. Delivered", then "Delivered" with an icon applied to each of the 2/3 page size graphic region, twitter feed, larger fonts, more information areas on bottom of page. Interesting approach to navigation, tab bar at top, then another set of roll-over tabs that display content into the graphic area.; tab pages move rollover navigaton to top, with lists displayng down onto graphic area. Login or registration available on most pages.

Comments: Minimal text with a large space for graphic/text.
Comments: This will be the login page for our web based application > apps.jtask.com/dev. We would like this to look more professional and highlight only the Train and Map module. Graphics would need to change as well.
Comments: Use existing services page as a gauge for content needs. Looking for polishing. Open to using multiple pages or different design elements.
ADDED RESOURCES PAGE
Place where people can get knowledge articles about the field or templates to use for projects
Comments: Page should not use a three column layout. Looking for polishing. Open to using multiple pages or different design elements.
Note that we've just added a page -- Resources.
It was a mistake to leave this page out. Plus the designs for Services and Products are virtually identical,
Please, please, please can you take a look at the current resources page and come back with adesign that will save this page. It is a disaster. (So is the FAQ, but this is a story for anothe time).
