SurveyTool.com is a website that lets users create online surveys that can be distributed through email invitations and shareable URLs. Users get a great set of tools to view their responses in the form of grids and various charts. There is also some great customizability when it comes to the creation of the survey. Users can pick from our pre-defined survey templates (for example customer satisfaction survey or a student feedback survey, already pre-created for quick use) or create their own. Users can also choose from a variety of styles/themes for the actual survey they create.
The main advantage of SurveyTools.com is that it allows for the automatic sending of email invitations periodically to your contacts, and organizes response based on these periods. For example, an HR Manager may create an employee feedback survey with an invitation period set as 1 month. In this case, SurveyTools.com will send out email invitations for the survey to all the added employees, every month. Over time, The HR manager can then look at the report to see trends in the response to each question (like: How would you rate the work enviornment?) and keep a pulse by getting a monthly report on the status of their company employees. This feature is the main key focus of SurveyTools.com.
We are currently in the process of building SurveyTools.com functionalities.

The target audience are managers and professionals, possibly in higher up positions in organizations. These are aged between 35 and 50, 60% female. Our target audience are also online community managers and managers of any e-commerce websites or services. In essence these are mostly managers looking to get feedback.
Our target audience are also users who will be using search engines to look for a survey designing tool and will most likely need something that gets their survey created and started right away, therefore we need an action button on the home page like "Create Your First Survey" (we are flexible about changing the wording) that will take the user to a survey creation interface.
We need a landing page / home page which our users will see when they visit the website. I am attaching a screenshot of a landing page we are temporarily going with for now, until we select something better here.
Please note the buttons on this page, we need all these buttons. You may rename and redesign them whichever way you like. The main action button "Create Your First Survey" is there to encourage users to start making a survey. The login button may be replaced by username and password fields if you like, else a dynamic popup or slide-out can be used too. Note that there is No register button here (users register later), we just have a survey creation button for new users. Once the user clicks the "Create Your First Survey" button, here is the next screen that they will see (just to give you a sense of the theme and colors currently used on the site): http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/…esmenu.jpg
We need the main home page designed. This is the first page all users will see.
Since we are building all the internal workings of our site at out end and following a certain theme throughout, we can accept any design from you as long as it follows relatively/approximately similar color palette. We are also ok with changing the header and footer to some degree as long as it has some space to implement sub menu items, if that is something you would like to do for your design. But if you can pull off a great looking design while keeping the same header and footer and just playing around in the mid area, that is going to help us a lot. One thing not mentioned in the screenshot is that creating the first survey is actually free, so if you like, a "Free" badge may be used. The logo you currently see is just a dummy logo and will be replaced once we have a logo, but in any case, the logo will have a similar color theme.
Essentially, we want a straightforward messaging on the home page explaining what we do and how we're better (we allow for automatic periodically inviting of user's contacts to the survey), some simple diagram may be nice but its mostly up to the designer if they feel it fits. We want the user to instantly know what SurveyTool.com is, its benefits n persuade them to click the "Create Your First Survey" button. We want the whole page to look very modern and web2.0.
