Virtual backgrounds for PRIDE month (multiple winners)

We envision epic careers and a fabulous work environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, nonbinary, intersex, and asexual team members at Vista, 99designs and Cimpress. The Pride ERG works to collectively celebrate and elevate Vista’s global LGBTQIA+ team members.

PRIDE is celebrated every June and Vista/Cimpress teams choose to celebrate globally to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, many pride events are held during this month to recognize the impact LGBT people have had in the world.

We’re looking for custom Zoom background illustrations to celebrate and inspire in video calls and meetings during Pride month. This is your chance to get creative and celebrate and showcase a love for our differences and cultures. Whether you want to design something more traditional, whimsical or elegant… We want to see it all!

While there are several themes for this year’s PRIDE, we would like to highlight the following themes in these designs:

- Strength In Solidarity
- Gather
- Dream
- Amplify
- Peace, Love, Revolution

These themes represent the current plight of the LGBTQIA+ community as we continue to fight for inclusivity and equity. We would like our employees to be able to celebrate and showcase support for PRIDE month with their Zoom backgrounds.

The winning backgrounds will be shared internally with all of 99designs, Vistaprint and Cimpress employees.

WHAT TO AVOID

Zoom backgrounds must be scalable, so that even when they’re shrunken down (and a head is blocking most of the screen on a call) we can still appreciate the design.

Please avoid designs that are too complex or detailed or have all the detail centred because the person's head will block it. We want to be able to appreciate your beautiful work! <3

As always, stock images are not permitted in this contest category.

All winning designers will be required to create a digital Zoom background (specs below), as well as submit a print-ready version of their illustration.

SPECS
- Dimensions: 1920px by 1080px (16:9 aspect ratio)

DIGITAL VERSION
- Format: GIF, JPG/JPEG or 24-bit PNG (no alpha). Any transparent areas of PNGs will be shown on a white background.
- Maximum file size: 5 MB

PRINT VERSION
- Winning designers will also be asked to submit a print-ready, layered / vector version of their design (300DPI, CMYK). As always, fonts should be outlined and all linked artwork should be included in the handover.
