For the font I used a bold typeface with some playfulness to it in order to match the mascot. I then added some shading for a bit of depth and played around with the spacing and rotation of the letters in order to minimize any unwanted negative space.
The dark border serves to both bring blend the text and mascot together seamlessly, as well as create some contrast to the letters. As such it would also be perfect for a sticker or car vinyl, as the client mentioned they would be using it in this way.
Finally, I also added it as a preview on a dark background in order to show it would also definitely work in that configuration.")

They wanted to go with either a unicorn or axolotl as the face of their logo, so I tried my hand at the latter and came up with a cute and bubbly cartoon style design.
I ended up choosing a big bald font and slightly rounded the sharp corners to make it appear a little softer. I also ended up re-arranging the letters in such a way as to avoid some of the negative space and give the overall result a more condensed, pleasing appearance. The lettering also received a bit of a 3D style treatment for a bit more depth, as well as a slight arch effect for a little extra uniqueness.")
