The lines from the lower lashes elevate towards the top of the crown, ending in a curl. I was keen of using curves because they provide an organic feel to the design.
The illustration of the crown is more abstract. A prominent crown can come across as pretentious and overblown. We want to display elegance and captivate the attention of the public. But we don’t want to seem pompous.
The most remarkable section of the crown is the Duafe, the West African symbol of beauty. This symbol is strongly associated with grooming.")

2. The second element is the abstract representation of hair cutting scissors.
3. The third element are the Aspen leaves. Aspen leaves symbolize renewal, revival and transformation. There is one leave on the left top corner and another one on the right top corner. These leaves are made from the intersection between the letter “M” and the handles (the bow) of the scissors. Element 3 is a natural by-product of elements 1 and 2 because it is illustrated with the intersection of their lines.
The meaning behind the design is: Matthew Dillard (represented in element 1) and his craft (represented in element 2) gives rise to transformation (represented in element 3).")
