Their bold and vibrant branding caters towards a younger adult crowd, drawing from retro patterns and modern typography to create a trendy, eccentric, and lively physical space.
The brand design was approached with minimalism as well as a sprinkle of retro nostalgia. Using the checkerboard pattern as a visual motif, I drew from the punk and skater subcultures of the 70s, and 80s. This was paired with clean and minimal cues such as generous use of white space, a geometric sans serif and structural linework and strokes that frame the logo and menus. The main typeface ‘Aesthet Nova’ draws upon the typography of the 70s, featuring bold, puffy letterforms, and creating a confident but quirky personality for Noods.")

The packaging is designed so that once the consumer has used all the dried herbs, they can flatten the packaging, place over soil, water, and grow that same plant in their garden, hence, producing a holistic cradle-to-cradle product. The front of the packaging is also perforated and can be torn away, acting as a label or marker for the users’ herbs.")

As a peer-led organisation run by and for people with a disability from diverse backgrounds, Diversity and Disability Alliance promotes inclusiveness, independence and empowerment for their community. Due to their audience with diverse abilities and languages, we had to cater to these needs in our design considerations through high contrast text and images; and a universally acceptable visual language.")

:format(webp)/99designs-work-samples/work-sample-designs/2078912/50d9a062-369f-478b-b423-2cbfbf34a94e "For every issue at Vertigo, we created a completely new style guide, changing up the typography, image treatments, and visual motifs to match the theme of that issue, only keeping the body text the same throughout the year. This allowed us to be very visually experimental and was incredibly fun to do. The style guides were also carried out through our Youtube channel Vertigo TV where we highlighted and interviewed the work of a handful of contributors from each issue. I animated many of the title cards and also helped with video editing.")
